Hi blog family!
trust- does this issue come up often- it should because the first person you trusted--your mom and dad--have vanished out of your life due to abuse, neglect, death or abandonment!
How do you move on from that? One day at a time-like they say in AA!
You have to start by trusting yourself- knowing that you did whatever you had to do to come through this far-that was no easy task!!
You can also start by PRACTICING each day how to trust.. perhaps tell a friend a little more information or a mate- something you would not trust them with BUT not so much information they could think it's too heavy....example .....if your an adult perhaps a friend shared information and you clamed up and did not share--next time the topic comes up--you can share....maybe your the type of person that NEVER shares any information==when you learn to trust you will practice telling a LITLLE information.
You cannot become good at trusting until you practice with people you do love and trust in your life....if nothing else, you will learn how to pick trustworthy people by NOT having them throw what you said back at you when they are angry.. and if they do....SO WHAT!! the world will not end just because someone knows you lived in a group home -if anything- they may understand and respect you more...
Read and Laugh--yes, learn to laugh at yourself...read every self help book you can on how to trust others--youtube it google it...whatever..just learn everything you can about trust....
Open your heart--know that not everyone is out to get you--infact no one is, the bad just have a different lesson to learn and we may become their victim... When someone comes along that is good to you--go with it unitl they show you they are not worthy..Don't assume everyone wll leave or hurt you--assume most people like you and want to help you.....
you are blessed and loved-smile, someone is watching!!
This is a place where you can come for advice or a kind word. If you are in a group home, Foster care or had no family due to any circumstance, There are many things you may not have learned. I hope to motivate change in your life! If you have no family to inspire you on bad days, you may find something here to show you how to get out of your bubble and "take back your life! * These words are my opinions only and based on my 16 years in foster care! learning to enjoy a good laugh!
Project manager - Fun | Blog | Fundoofun.com
click on the link and read....lol.....
one thing we have to learn to do.....laugh....and enjoy it!!
I know growing up in care and after leaving life was and still can be hard BUT you have to know how NOT to take yourself serious!!
Everyone needs a good laugh every now and again!! Why??
You spend too much time tensed up, nervous, worrying, sulking, thinking....STOP!!!!! just for one minute or one movie...laugh. enjoy laughing, it lightens your load and physically, it makes your nerves better!!!
I have a new exercise I tell people to do: whenever you are at your lowest OR things are not going as you planned for the day.....STOP! I don't care what it is...( unless you were in the middle of CPR)...lol... STOP!! and think of the funniest thing you ever saw or heard.....if you are not laughing....it was not funny anyway...if you are.....realize: nothing in life is that serious!!!!
Take time to enjoy your smile and that of others around you. Hang around people who laugh alot, it's contagious!!!
Ps. be on the lookout for Surviving foster care & making it work for you!! much love, Tanya

words of encouragement...
Hi, please check out the article adoptuskids.org did on me.
my words for today... think of how to make life better and more enjoyable everyday...what can you do to help others?
Thinking of others will help your problems seem small and you will be too busy helping to have time to be sad about your own issues...
we all have them,
what can we do to help others, so that we can focus less on our problems?
If you don't have an immediate solution, help someone else until the answer comes...
keep smiling, you may save or change a life!! xo Tanya

when was the last time you had a checkup?
hey blog family!!
when was the last time you visited the doctor or sat down and prayed or meditate?
Yes you need an over all physical!
This body and mind is the only one you get in this life- so you must treat it right. How you say??
If you are into church--get on your knees and pray to God, thank him for your wonderful, special self and all the GOOD in your life.
Pray that all the negative is held at bay because your positive energy is SO great!
Give thanks for you being able to do better today what you could not do yesterday...
give thanks for your sanity and making it through whatever hardships you went through....
Giving thanks is a form of cleansing to me because now that you said thanks - you can start over and do even better..
Your physician-yes, you need to go and check your body every now and then.
I am not big on doctors, medicine or anything not natural to the body BUT you must
get your cholesterol checked-great way to tell if your a candidate for heart disease!
Sometimes you may look good, (like my brother did), but be in deadly trouble!!
check for diabetes
GYN---guys prostate
if over 50 colon (only if you know you have eaten bad all your life and having potty trouble.....
eat only the foods that God made in the garden of eden, anything else....be careful, especially processed foods...chips, dressings, mayo, cookies--you know and if you don't google it!!!
watch what meds you take for headaches/allergys....including benedryl...some of these may be causing your brain to be foggy scientist are discovering...check out Dr. mercola.com.
I know you can't be perfect--cause then you would not be on earth BUT you can check up your body and your mind and make sure its in tac!!!
Lastly- when the world has failed you and you become confused or chaotic--sit in total silence!! don't allow anyone to disturb you- take a walk in the woods or sit by a lake or ocean--whatever will allow you peace... listen to the universe and what God has to tell you in review. Listen to what your instincts tell you--they never guide you wrong IF you listen to them enough to know what you need to do--that is why god made them!! Silence is so important to finishing your checkup- you re-a-ssess yourself and what you need to do to make this life work!
Foster care or other tradegys may have been brutal in your life-it is time to take care of you and your needs so that you can go into the world and help others in YOUR own way!!
Please check yourself- the universe needs you and someone is waiting for you to save them and change their life!! xo
