This is the Day!

Hi blog family!

It has been a while but life, is always happening, even when were busy! lol

Have you ever had a great idea but did not act on it?

Ask yourself why?
Did you need a contact name, money, materials?
Why did you not act on it when the idea was fresh?
Often we can sabotage ourselves by NOT acting on an idea!

We are all creative and have the ability to create a million dollar idea....but not many of us act on it. When I say us, yes, those who grew up in any home and were NOT encourage to follow through on an idea.
I say we all have a 6th sense" when you know something is right or wrong...

many of us are taught to suppress this feeling very young and when we get older....the concept...."no faith" in our ideas has taken place....it has become embedded, thanks to family, no family, negative people, places and things...everything teaches you NOT to follow your instinct...especially if you were in a group home, (not knowing you likely have a better "instinct" than anyone)...because you had to use it to stay away from bad people!!....

Not many kids in group home settings are encouraged to try new things and not be afraid to be different...example:" if i said in a group home: "I'm gonna be a superstar in TV one day" ....most kids and other would laugh or say "Yea right"!!

But Eddie Murphy, Mariah Carey, Pit Bull, Kerry Washington, DMX, Oprah....(OK Oprah was not a Foster kid but she had some comparisons....)
think of this:
MANY survivors of Holocaust/Slavery/famine/AIDS epidemic etc... were orphaned and many in parts of Africa...8 million are today!!!

It was DMC from Run DMC that said at an event we spoke at years ago...."Jesus" was an orphan!!!

Its not what you are or where your at!!....its where are you going and what are you doing to get there!!
Everyone has divine purpose, yours may not be the same as mine! That is why you must follow through with YOUR talent, gifts and ideas!!!!
You may save or change a life one day!" (that is my quote from my   brother Rob that passed.....)

the names above were said to have been in foster care at some point in their lives....they all  knew they would make it one day...because they followed an inner voice...instinct"!!! They are not perfect" but they have all contributed to the world through film, singing acting and activism- you can't beat that for a foster kid!!!
WE ALL HAVE IT!!!! God made us ALL special, some just choose to Not be anything GREAT- we choose mediocre....or "OK"...You chose that, you were not born 'OK" you were born to be great! Something happened along the way to divert you - its OK...get back on your path of greatness!!!! TODAY!!!

We may "think" of a great idea....but it will be just a thought......
You cannot get to your dream without taking chances!! Think of a million dollar idea, Paint the next Picasso, invent a new product, write the next manuscript...
Get Out meet people in the field you WANT to be in!!
Join groups on Linkdin/FB/YOUTUBE and other sites that give you advice on the talent, skill or idea you are trying to develop!
Remember failure is not an option!!
When you don't act on something......nothing will come of that great idea!
Paint that picture you always dreamed of..
write that script you have in your head for a blockbuster movie!
Meet new friends that share your interest, take a class at the local college if you need to...
invent something new you think the world needs.

Don't let not having materials, money or even connections stop you! There is always some action you could take: write it down, find a mentor, use alternative to make a prototype, (until you get what you need)
Whatever you have been dreaming to do, to make to be.....start today, this is the day created just for you!!
Smile, someone is watching you....:)

happy with your life?

Hi blog family!

I hope all of my teens are enjoying the summer, reading, doing activitys that are outdoors, so you can get your natural vitamin D!! For those of us that are older, are you REALLY enjoying your life? are you at a good place in life? Are you being worn down by old problems; neglect abandonment or abuse?

No worry!! The good news is: ONLY YOU CAN CHANGE IT!! No matter what the issue is that caused the problem. If you are not happy in your life and need change--DO IT!! Nike has the best commercial saying for this!! Change starts within YOU!! The person who neglected, abused or abandoned you may move forward with their life and you need to find closure via therapy, self help books or your religion (no clans or kooks pls..lol...).. find your inner strength and let it guide you to change your life from within: thinking how did being in foster care effect you, however long you were in care, that's how long you need to work, it is ongoing progress!! You can change anything in your life with an instant thought and action!!! Tired of being broke....invent something that will get you paid!! tired of abusive relationships....kick them to the curb and only settle for a mate who meets your standards! tired of bum friends, find new ones who motivate and inspire you!!! life is a lesson for us all and one thing i learned, I am in control of my destiny-at all times!!! take action today!! xo
you are loved!!!

Fostering relationships after foster care

today i will share this with you and then the purple project.com- feel free to comment.

Before being in care some of us had to endure our parents drug use or ill mental health.
Often times we had to worry about who was coming to visit, if someone was going to hurt us or if we could trust that person. Often, we could not.
Being in an unstable home causes children to grow into worrying adults who end up with OCD or ulcers.
Life before foster care can be hard and we are blessed to have lived to tell our stories.
In reality we never learned to foster good relationships that bring out the best in us and make us want to be open and loving to others. As a child we may have "built a wall" as a "defense mechanism, (a way to protect our selves). You learned to drop friends and mates easily because you had no choice - you had to move again!
While in foster care many of us had to move to a new place, hindering our chance of making long term friends or having time to learn trust!
While building a wall of protection may have worked as a child constantly on the move in foster care, it is no longer working in adult hood and may be costing you relationships.
Have you been in a good relationship; friend or mate, and after a while you start sabotaging without realizing it?
not comfortable with too many hugs
feeling lonely in a room full of people?
Have not had a date in years, and could care less if you do, although you deserve and want love?
I believe these are all signs that you need to relearn how to build relationships.
Some of the ways to start over;;;
1. look at all of your relationships and ask yourself are you giving your all and is your partner. (quite often we will find mates that DONOT love us as much as we love them or they are unemotionally available....perfect for someone who does not want to get too close to anyone...
2. ask your friend or mate how they feel about your relationship, is anything missing, are you doing your share, (open communication, advice when needed, an ear when needed, a hug when needed and a chance to learn and grow as a person.
3. Your friends & mate should bring out the best in you. When you are around them you should feel safe, and know that they will not let you down like your family did, (until someone give's you reasons not to trust or open up, you should take a chance, you cannot exercise your judgement capabilities without practice - and that comes with meeting new people and taking a chance on trusting they are in your life because they value something about you and can grow from a relationship with you.
4. It takes years to get your trust skills back, just like it took years for you to stop trusting the parent who never came back or the parent that hurt you, kids are very trusting but after a while they put up a wall and into adulthood, that wall becomes an obstacle for a mate or a friend who was just trying to give you the love you deserve
let me know some of your experiences and i will try to facilitate positive feedback. -
